DHL is hiring a Senior Accountant to join its Heredia, Costa Rica team. In this role, you will ensure timely and accurate reporting of the monthly financial statements of DHL entities in accordance with Accounting principles and Corporate policies. Additional tasks and accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and report financial statements timely and in line with IFRS and Deutsche Post DHL policy and guidelines.
• Prepare B/S accounts reconciliation and to ensure that all balance sheet accounts, subledger accounts and interface reconciliations are kept up to date and in line with the DHL Express Regional Operating Model, and that the accounts are reviewed by the Team Manager before being sent to the Business Partner.
• Prepare, review and post manual journal entries in line with IFRS, CREST and DP DHL policy and guidelines.
• Ensure the correct registration and control of fixed assets in line with IFRS, DP DHL guidelines and the DHL Express Regional Operating Model
• Ensure that all inter-company transactions and reconciliations are in line with DP DHL IC guidelines
• Ensure the timely preparation and distribution of required financial and accounting reports (including management information)
• Ensure that group and area reporting deadlines are consistently met
• Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations for specific account ranges, entities or a set of entities in line with the DHL Express Regional Operating Model and follow up on open items until resolution. Ensure that all relevant backups are stored in the appropriate location.
• Support the offshored Financial Accounting activities according to SOPs by delivering according to Service Level Agreements by daily follow up on operational and contractual targets
• Provide assistance during the Planning and Budget cycle and ensure accurate data and regional guidelines are achieved.
• Perform, monitor and advice on risk assessment according to internal GL Guidelines and the GOM Regional Operating Model
• Plan work schedules independently and ensure that deadlines agreed as per SLA are consistently met.
• Prepare and analyze KPI's

Qualifications

• Degree / Advanced Diploma in Accounting
• 3 year of experience and knowledge in accounting and Fixed Asset and Duties processes preferred.
• Strong knowledge in Record to Report (R2R / RTR) processes.
• Solid understanding of the full accounting cycle (end-to-end)
• English Advanced
• Advanced Excel
• Good knowledge of at least one ERP, preferably SAP, Oracle, SUN.
• Knowledege in CREST system is an asset
