NetOps Road Network EU is looking for a Director Road Network Control Centre (f/m/d) based in Brussels. This role leads the operational execution of one of Europe's largest express transportation networks, overseeing approximately 2,000 nightly linehaul movements across 33 countries and a significant transportation budget. The role is accountable for network performance, service reliability, and real-time operational decision-making across the European road network.

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
- Lead regional road network across all European countries, managing day-to-day performance of linehaul, cross-border, and collaboration with domestic operators.
- Translate strategic objectives from network strategy into measurable operational goals (service, utilization, and cost per, cost per kg).
- Drive operational alignment between central planning (TMS, modelling, and optimization) and local dispatch execution.
- Oversee standardization of operational practices, load-planning rules, and carrier-management processes across the region.
- Partner with the with cross functional teams to implement new systems and data-driven workflows.
- Own regional KPI dashboards, monitoring cost, service, trailer utilization, and exception trends; drive structured performance reviews.
- Lead regional route audits and continuous-improvement reviews; identify and execute initiatives to reduce empty mileage, improve density, and optimize asset use.
- Ensure consistent compliance with safety, legal, and environmental standards across all operations and carriers.
- Develop and mentor a cross-country team of operational leads; build future leadership bench strength.
- Represent Road Operations in Global Network Control Group leadership forums and interface with country directors, ensuring one unified European road operation.
Do you have what it takes?
- Master’s degree in Transportation & Logistics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience in logistics management, with a proven track record of leading large teams within the aviation, express, or trucking industry.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance hands-on execution and operational priorities with a long-term network vision.
- Strong change leadership capabilities, driving the adoption of new tools, processes, and standardized ways of working.
- Data-driven decision-making skills, leveraging analytics, KPIs, and real-time network insights to identify opportunities and optimize performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to align cross-country teams and diverse stakeholders around shared objectives.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions, geographies, and organizational levels in a complex international environment.
- Results-oriented professional with a continuous improvement mindset and a focus on delivering sustainable business outcomes.
- Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in an additional European language is an advantage.
