The Corporate Tax department is responsible for all corporate income and indirect (transactional) tax matters within DHL Group. Global responsibilities are addressed by International Taxes and Indirect Taxes, whereas regional responsibilities are organized by area, led by Regional Heads. We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC at Mumbai, India.
Job Purpose:
- Manage corporate tax and GST matters for DHL Group entities in India.
- Support to develop and administer plans on tax related matters, tax compliance and accounting principles to maintain effective tax rate, minimize tax risk and improve cash flow in line with sub-functional plans, business objectives, group policies, regulations and compliance requirements by providing tax advisory, compliance oversight and litigation support while ensuring alignment with DHL Group policies and applicable tax regulations.
Your tasks:
Direct Tax
- Preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns and other direct tax compliances.
- Review advance tax computations and monitor tax payments.
- Support tax provisioning, deferred tax computation and effective tax rate analysis in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure timely compliance with withholding tax obligations and reporting requirements.
- Manage direct tax assessments, audits and investigations.
- Prepare technical submissions, responses and representations before tax authorities.
- Coordinate with tax advisors and legal counsels for appeals and litigation matters.
- Track ongoing litigation matters and identify opportunities for dispute resolution and risk mitigation.
- Support transfer pricing compliance and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate preparation and review of transfer pricing studies and intercompany agreements.
- Assist in transfer pricing audits, assessments and dispute resolution matters.
- Provide advisory support on cross-border transactions, intercompany arrangements and international tax matters.
- Monitor developments in Indian and international tax regulations and assess business impact.
GST
- Manage GST audits, investigations, assessments and departmental enquiries.
- Prepare responses to notices, audit observations and show cause notices.
- Coordinate with external advisors and legal counsels for litigation matters.
- Drive resolution of GST disputes and identify opportunities for reducing tax exposure.
- Monitor changes in GST law and proactively communicate business impacts.
- Provide GST advisory support to business stakeholders.
Tax Technology
- Drive continuous improvement of tax processes and controls.
- Support automation and digitalisation initiatives relating to direct tax and GST compliance.
- Leverage tax technology tools and data analytics to improve efficiency and compliance monitoring.
- Identify opportunities to simplify compliance processes and enhance reporting quality.
Your profile:
Education Level:
- Chartered Accountant or equivalent experience/qualification
- Additional qualifications in taxation or international tax would be advantageous
Experience Level:
- Over 5 years of relevant experience in taxes function
- Experience in multinational organisations and/or Big 4 firms will be an added advantage.
- Experience in transportation & logistics industry will be an added advantage
