🔎 About the Role
The Ramp is an essential department within operations at the EMA HUB. The ramp workers ensures that once material arrives in the Hub facility by air transport, the unloading and reloading is performed in accordance with DHL, Airline and Legal Regulations, and that the material is sorted in accordance with established procedures and is available for further distribution throughout the network at scheduled times.
✅ What You’ll Be Doing
· Co-ordinate safe airside operations through effective staff and resource management whilst accurately managing teams breaks and downtime between jobs in order to contribute successfully to DHL operations.
· Ensure that teams are the correct operational size dependent on aircraft type as per AGOM.
· Continuously monitoring adverse weather conditions to ensure employee safety is not compromised.
· Monitor standards of ramp housekeeping for compliance with GAPS and the local Aerodrome manual.
· Plan night and day stand allocation for aircraft parking requirements ensuring all aircraft types are effectively parked to maximize the amount of movements arriving and departing EMA.
· Monitor ‘live’ flight schedule data and communicate updates to relevant internal departments.
· Monitor NMIV for issues which could adversely effect on-time performance, escalating issues in a timely manner.
· Ensure deadlines and schedules are met.
· Nightly report completion which includes gathering information from various departments throughout the operation.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives.
· Monitor airside freight and ELD distribution. Assisting ramp teams to ensure all ULDs are moved in a timely manor using the AHS function.
· Take necessary action to protect on time performance.
· Coordinate winter operations safely and efficiently.
· Liaise with on-site GSE Maintenance team to resolve equipment failures during the live operation.
· Plan the number and size of loading teams in advance of operations and make dynamic changes based on annual leave, absence, and training requirements.
· Update and track Ramp activities through the use of digital RMS system.
· Having good communication with the ramp training department to ensure trainee staff are placed on the most suitable aircraft to ensure training proficiency.
· Working closely to the airside management team to make sure requirements and on time departs are met.
· All employees are responsible for the health and safety of themselves and also those affected by their activities.
· You are expected to take appropriate action when any situation occurs that could create a serious or imminent risk to the Health and Safety of yourself or any person whilst at work.
