Position Summary: Provide support to customers funded by Hamilton County Job and Family Services Ohio Work First participants as they work in the community and maintain communication between customer, employer, funding agency and other community support personnel. Coach and support individuals with on competitive job sites and/or assessment sites by assist as needed with job tasks and skills. Maintain contact with employer/manager while in coaching to evaluate progress. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Serves as liaison for participants with employer, case managers, funding agency and others by facilitating communication. Identifies and assists employers and participants with implementing any needed job modification.
- Provides transportation by driving participants to and from work sites for orientations, training and other activities, as needed.
- Attends job development/ job match meetings, and staffing’ /follow along meetings with referral sources, participants and the customer support team to review progress of the participants.
- Updates customer case files by completing and filing documents and monthly reports.
- Communicates regularly with referral sources regarding customer progress and progress of potential customers.
- Keeps accurate records by completing and maintaining required documentation including case notes, monthly reports, intake forms, activity logs, mileage reports and discharge summaries. Write progress reports for each participant on follow along case load. Write daily case notes and monthly reports on participants in job coaching.
- Complete daily/weekly paperwork for follow along and enter data into the Community Link database daily. Complete a Customer Attendance Report monthly on caseload.
- Attend required training for updates and program changes through Hamilton County Job & Family Services, Community Link and/or meetings required by supervisor/ agency.
- Maintain knowledge and skills by attending meetings, seminars and works shops as required by supervisor or agency.
- Maintains confidentiality of participant’s files and other sensitive subject matter.
- Works varied assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related
- Effectively connects customers to employment opportunities.
- Serves as a liaison between Community Link and Hamilton County Job & Family Services.
- Guides the customer in job search techniques (resume writing, interviewing skills, on-line applications, etc.) and connects the customer to job search tools to help them become self-sufficient.
- Provides customers with sufficient assistance and information to explore their options with work participation requirements.
- Able to understand and contribute to the goals of Community Link, and understand the work within the culture of the group, plans and make decisions with others and support outcomes, respects the thoughts and opinions of others to achieve group results.
- Ability to lead when appropriate and motivate the team for high performance.
- Assists other individuals and departments to accomplish goals and mission. Adopts win/win approaches to problem solving.
- Takes a leadership role in order to accomplish team and organizational goals. Works cooperatively with others and contributes to group with ideas, suggestions, and effort. Works well with men and women and with a variety of ethnic, social, and/or educational backgrounds.
Education/Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree Preferred. Degree in marketing, social services including Social Work, Counseling, Psychology and Sociology, Education or related field preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience in job development, employment and training or social service programs working with economically disadvantaged population.
- Ability to perform informal assessment of individual’s skills and employment interests. Actively assist individuals in determining the appropriate course of action as well as identifying necessary resources.
- Capably and creatively execute job readiness activities. Skilled in development and provision of captivating and motivating presentations on a variety of employment related topics.
- Proven working ability to use various Microsoft Office technology applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher).
- Effectively assist customers in the use of computers for employment related activities (resume development, cover letters, job search, electronic response to employment opportunities, etc.)
- Good oral communication skills and the ability to relate well to staff members and customers. Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of public assistance requirements and ability to integrate rules about work assignments.
