About being a Dietary Cook at Easterseals Redwood: - Perform tasks in compliance with written guidelines and policies and procedures of Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
- Participate in in-house training of direct care staff as requested by Dietary Manager.
- Collaborate with Dietary Manager in the planning, preparing and serving meals that meet USDA requirements.
- As delegated by the Dietary Manager, supervise dietary staff or volunteers in preparing, serving, and maintaining equipment that meets regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Dietary Manager in purchase of food and maintenance of inventory.
- Prepare, label, and serve meals as scheduled for clients and staff. Meals (breakfast, lunch & snacks) are delivered to upper level for clients in Children's Services.
- Communicate with Children's Services staff and act on requests for special food items and to accommodate changes in client attendance or growth in programs.
- Work with dietary staff or volunteers in the preparation, service, & cleanup of kitchen area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What Easterseals Redwood needs from our Dietary Cook: - High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: Two years or more cooking and food service experience, preferable in school, daycare, or nonprofit.
