Job Title: Vice President, Technology

Position Summary:
The Vice President, Technology is responsible for providing vision, strategy and leadership for the development, integration, and implementation of all information technology initiatives, including company-wide IT infrastructure, business systems and customer-facing technology solutions in alignment with FC Cincinnati’s business initiatives and long-term strategy. This role is critical in managing and leveraging our relationship with our third-party IT provider and ensuring that our technology solutions align with our objectives and growth strategies. This role includes directing all IT operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and technical solutions. The Vice President, Technology will provide guidance and consultation for Enterprise and Senior Leadership, and other operating departments, in the development and implementation of technology solutions. The Vice President, Technology will develop and execute creative strategies for cost-effective technology service delivery and will be accountable for the effective management of all related vendor partnerships.
What You’ll Do:
  • Provides strategic leadership in the creation and support of an overall technology infrastructure plan for FC Cincinnati and associated companies, campuses, and departments with a goal of improving efficiency and streamlining operations.
  • Directs the work of FC Cincinnati’s third-party IT provider and ensures adherence to contract.
  • Working with FC Cincinnati’s third-party IT provider, directs and manages IT plans, schedules, policies and programs for the organization’s data processing, network communications, business operations, computer services and management information systems etc. 
  • Oversees the design, maintenance and scalability of the existing IT infrastructure across campuses and the upcoming mixed-use development project, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Lead IT projects related to infrastructure upgrades, system integrations, and technology enhancements with oversight of project scope, timelines, budgets and deliverables. Projects should be led in collaboration with managers, staff, contractors and departmental stakeholders. 
  • Actively manage all external technology partners and suppliers to ensure they are delivering optimal value. 
  • Analyzes complex business needs presented by FC Cincinnati fans and staff members and recommends technical solutions. 
  • Oversees the evaluation, selection, implementation and/or development of applications, infrastructure, and technology to support the organization’s objectives.  
  • Approves all business requirements prior to the implementation of a technical solution. 
  • Participates in all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts. 
  • Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions. 
  • Establishes and maintains essential technology governance and control framework, with a focus on transparency, accessibility, and pragmatism.  
  • Identifies and leverages emerging information technologies to drive innovation across the organization. 
  • Manage data security measures and ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection laws.
  • Enhance processes around third-party management of FC Cincinnati data to mitigate the risk of service disruptions and security breaches. 
  • Develop Crown Jewel inventory and data flow maps to illustrate where fan PII originates and how it traverses through the environment.
  • Serves as a committed and responsible member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic planning process. 
  • Lead the organization's cybersecurity strategy, including the development and implementation of comprehensive security policies and procedures.
  • Performs departmental budget and salary administration and conducts interviews and makes recommendations for new hires, consultants and/or replacement personnel. 
  • When required, possesses the technical ability to provide troubleshooting and network outage remediation. 
What You’ll Need:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or business-related discipline, and a minimum of 10 years of progressive technology leadership roles. 
  • Minimum 5 years direct responsibility for building and managing technology operating budgets. 
  • In-depth understanding of data-networking, telephone and system administration. 
  • Experience with Cybersecurity Hospitality/Retail POS technology and Audio-Visual technologies (ie. Broadcast media, scoring and video boards, IPTV, press/media distribution and audio/visual).  
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory / Exchange / SharePoint / Microsoft 365
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
  • PMP or ITIL would be an asset.
