Postion Summary:
The President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Freestore Foodbank is the visionary leader of one of the nation’s most impactful hunger -relief organizations. Serving 20 counties across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, Freestore Foodbank distributes more than 47 million meals annually and partners with over 600 community organizations, standing as a cornerstone of food security and community resilience in the Tri -State region. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO sets the strategic direction for a $100-million enterprise, ensuring disciplined financial stewardship, operational excellence, and long -term sustainability.
This leader will build and strengthen a high-performing executive team, inspire staff and volunteers, and cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and measurable impact. As the organization’s chief ambassador, the CEO will elevate Freestore Foodbank’s visibility, mobilize diverse stakeholders, and forge transformational partnerships with donors, civic leaders, policymakers, and community partners. Above all, this leader will unify staff, partners, and the broader community around an ambitious vision: a hunger -free region where every individual and family can thrive.

Inspires and unites teams around a clear vision, fosters high-performing, trust-based cultures, and combines intellectual rigor with emotional intelligence to guide success.
Operational & Financial Stewardship: Brings deep expertise in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and operational excellence. Demonstrated leadership of complex enterprises with budgets exceeding $100M, diversified revenue streams, improved efficiencies, mitigated risk, and sustained highperformance outcomes.
Relationship Building: Cultivates trust-based relationships with Board of Directors, donors, civic leaders, legislators, and community partners.
Board Engagement: Proven ability to cultivate high-functioning relationships with the Board of Directors grounded in trust, transparency, and shared accountability.
Advocacy & Political Acumen: Ability to effectively navigate local, state, and federal political landscapes. Demonstrates initiative in engaging policymakers, advocating for those facing systemic barriers to food access, and fostering cross-sector partnerships that drive lasting systemic change.
Who We Are:
The Freestore Foodbank team is comprised of more than 100 employees working together to solve hunger. With one in seven neighbors in our Tri-State area at risk of hunger, we are dedicated to addressing the need. Freestore Foodbank is the largest emergency food and services provider for children and families across Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana, distributing 47 million meals annually to low-income individuals and households. The Freestore Foodbank supports 611 community partners in 20 counties throughout Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, including food kitchens, homeless shelters, emergency food pantries, social service centers, and program sites. By providing emergency food distribution, the Freestore Foodbank responds to the issue of poverty and food insecurity in our community and provides an array of services (emergency clothing, housing services, SNAP assistance, Medicaid outreach, and others) aimed at creating self-reliance.
