The Friends of Music Hall (FMH) is a dynamic non-profit organization with a mission to preserve, improve, promote and provide education about Music Hall. FMH seeks a highly motivated professional executive director (ED) to lead the organization while driving the day-to-day operations and strategy. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED has overall strategic and operational responsibility for FMH volunteers and programs and collaborates with members of the board for expansion and execution of the mission. The ED supervises a part-time administrative assistant and oversees volunteers.

Responsibilities:

· Key responsibilities entail overseeing all operational aspects including board management; tour and volunteer management; event planning and implementation; membership development; financial management; and marketing and communications.

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Prepare all board communications and programs including meetings and orientation, and organize and be the custodian of board minutes, tax, financial, insurance, legal and other important documentation.

· Schedule all tours and related programs; ensure accurate reservations system for group tours.

· Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and expand offerings. to build diverse audiences with Tours, Talks, Education & Engagement committee.

· Engage and motivate volunteers; recruit and train new, diverse volunteers; and handle volunteer scheduling and event staffing.

· Produce, coordinate or project manage FMH events including Wurlitzer organ concerts, annual meeting, and other special events such as 150th anniversary in 2028 with board committees.

· Coordinate annual marketing plan with Marketing and Communications committee; responsible for advertising, collateral materials, social media, website, and quarterly e-newsletter.

· Coordinate public relations activities with Marketing and Communications committee.

· Manage development activities with Development committee including annual mailings, fundraising planning, grant-writing and VIP receptions.

· Responsible for management and accuracy of database to track all donations.

· Work with the Treasurer and Finance Committee to prepare the annual budget, review interim financial statements (prepared by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra) and annual financial statement review and tax statement.

· Strengthen Music Hall’s resident company and community relationships/partnerships.

· Supervise part-time administrative staff.

Qualifications:

The Executive Director will be thoroughly committed to and passionate about the mission and vision of the FMH. The successful candidate will have proven leadership and relationship management experience. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

· Proven success working with and cultivating relationships with boards of directors, business associations, donors, volunteers, and creative organizations.

· Proven record of effective leadership in a performance- and outcomes-based organization.

· Demonstrated experience in planning meetings, programs, and special events.

· Exceptional organizational, collaboration and time management skills, and self-discipline to accomplish tasks independently.

· Strong writing and editing skills, including grant writing.

· Excellent verbal communication skills, including public speaking to diverse audiences.

· Strong marketing and promotion experience.

· Experience working with membership or fundraising programs, including competence with electronic donor tracking system such as Donor Perfect.

· Demonstrated proficiency with office equipment, Microsoft software, Google shared drive, as well as Constant Contact or other email management software for message distribution.

· Budget management skills, including budget preparation, decision-making and reporting.

· Interest in music, historic preservation, architecture, and history.

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with at least 5 years’ senior management experience, nonprofit management a plus; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
