Senior Commerical Credit Analyst General Electric Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned full service financial institution headquartered in Cincinnati with branches in Ohio and Kentucky. Overview: Analyze current and historical financial statements and credit data of individuals or firms to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Prepare reports with this credit information for use in decision-making. The person in this position will typically be working on GECU’s most complex credits and will also be expected to support their less experienced colleagues. Essential Responsibilities: - Analyze and spread financial information such as tax returns, income statements, balance sheets, rent rolls, leases, appraisals, personal financial statements and credit reports to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
- Perform global cash flow.
- Analyze collateral positions
- Confer with lender and other business representatives to obtain financial information.
- Generate financial ratios, using computer programs, to evaluate applicants’ financial status.
- Compare liquidity, profitability, and credit history of businesses in the same industries and geographical locations.
- Analyze financial data such as income growth, quality of management, and market share to determine expected profitability of loans.
- Complete loan presentations and credit memos for the credit union’s most complex credits.
- Complete periodic loan and relationship review.
- Be available to answer questions from less experienced colleagues.
- Be aware of department policies and procedures and adhere to them.
- Provide feedback on the credit quality of the commercial credit department to the Loan Committee.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations associated with this position
Education and Experience: - High School diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field preferred
- 5 to 7 years of experience in commercial underwriting with a concentration in C&I required, 10 years of experience is preferred
- Formal Credit Training is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Developing leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and mentor team members
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask with assignments
- Self-driven and able to work with minimal supervision
