Overview: Originate mortgage loans by developing and maintaining client referral relationships. Assist borrowers in realizing and meeting their financial goals by responsibly advising them throughout the mortgage loan process. Essential Responsibilities: - Assist mortgage loan borrowers to determine their needs and recommend the most beneficial loan products, while advising and guiding them throughout the entire loan process.
- Review financial information from borrowers pertaining to Refinance, Purchase, Construction/Rehab, Secondary Market loans, FHA, and VA loans.
- Knowledgeable in various types of mortgage loans, including FHA and VA loans.
- Maintain an active knowledge base of all GECU’s loan products and an understanding of the qualifications required of each applicant.
- Ensure loans meet current secondary market standards along with GECU portfolio guidelines.
- Prepare initial loan disclosures for borrower review in accordance with federally regulated deadlines.
- Monitor processing pipeline daily to ensure required documentation is received in a timely manner.
- Develop relationships with realtors, builders, developers, and sales agents to generate mortgage loans.
- Maintain the required MLO designation.
- Must be detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing work responsibilities in an organized manner.
- Engage in continuing education as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations associated with this position.
Education and Experience: - High school diploma or GED required
- At minimum, one year experience in mortgage lending

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
