Ecological Landscape Crew Member
Compensation: $19–$22/hour depending on experience
Our Land Organics is a forward-thinking, ecologically based landscape design, build, and maintenance company serving the Cincinnati area. We specialize in native plantings, ecological restoration, and thoughtfully crafted outdoor spaces built with natural materials.
We are seeking an Ecological Landscape Crew Member who is eager to learn the craft of landscape construction, gardening, and ecological land care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, learning hands-on skills, and contributing to meaningful landscapes that support people and the natural world.
You will work alongside experienced crew leaders and designers to install gardens, build stone features, and care for landscapes across the Cincinnati region.
Position Overview
As an Ecological Landscape Crew Member, you will participate in all aspects of landscape installation and ecological land care including:
- Native plant garden installation
- Stone patios, steps, and pathways
- Ecological restoration and planting
- Seasonal garden maintenance and cleanup
- Soil improvement and mulching
This role is hands-on and physically active and offers opportunities to develop specialized skills in stonework, ecological gardening, and landscape construction.
Key Responsibilities
Landscape Installation
- Assist with construction of patios, walkways, stone steps, and retaining walls
- Help install native trees, shrubs, and perennial plantings according to design plans
- Move and place materials such as stone, gravel, soil, mulch, and plants
- Assist with layout and site preparation for landscape projects
Ecological Garden Care
- Perform gardening tasks including weeding, pruning, transplanting, mulching, and seasonal cutbacks
- Assist with spring and fall cleanups for residential landscapes
- Support soil improvement practices such as composting and soil amendment
- Participate in ecological restoration and native plant installation
Tools & Equipment
- Safely operate landscape tools and equipment including wheelbarrows, shovels, chainsaws, compactors, and power tools
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and trailers
- Help maintain tools and keep job sites clean and organized
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with crew leaders and other team members
- Provide feedback to crew leaders about job progress, material needs, and site conditions
- Help ensure scheduled tasks are completed efficiently and to a high level of quality

Qualifications
- Prior landscaping, construction, or gardening experience preferred but not required
- Interest in ecological landscaping and native plants
- Plant identification knowledge for Southwest Ohio gardens is a plus
- Experience driving trucks or dump trailers is a plus
License
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Clean driving record preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- $19–$22/hour starting wage depending on experience
- Training in ecological landscaping and stonework construction

Schedule
Our operating hours are Monday and Friday; 7:30AM to 4:00PM. There will be opportunity for overtime based on client / project demands.This is a full-time, hourly position
