Hamilton County Public Health is accepting applications for an unpaid Health Promotion and Education Intern in the Department of Community Health Services. Internship will be from May 11- August 14, 2026*.Requirements include: a current student (bachelor’s or graduate level) of public health, dietetics, or related field, with knowledge of population health/health promotion and health education principles.Candidate should have an interest in gaining experience with authentic community engagement and possess an ability to communicate with diverse audiences. Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency. Some evening hours are required (approx. 2 hrs. once/week). This position requires intern to be in office for at least 8 hours per week in addition to visiting Early Care and Education providers within Hamilton County.Projects include but are not limited to:Assisting in the management of the WeTHRIVE! Initiative’s Farm to Early Care and Education (ECE) program:- Establish and maintain working relationships with various stakeholders. Examples include: local farmers, Early Care and Education Providers participating in the WeTHRIVE! Early Care and Education Initiative, children and families attending the participating early care and education locations.- Distribute surveys to families and early care and education providers and help with data management.- Prep for weekly tabling at ECE locations.- Engage children and caregivers in hands-on education around local produce.Assisting in the creation of a Farm to ECE Toolkit:- Translate public health information and best practices for populations served.- Assisting with formatting, editing, small sections of writing, etc.This position is for an unpaid internship.
