Health Promotion and Education Intern

Hamilton County Public Health is accepting applications for a Health Promotion and Education Intern in the Department of Community Health Services. Internship will run from September 1st – December 4th, 2026. Requirements include: a current student (bachelor’s or graduate level) of public health or related field, with knowledge of population health/health promotion and health education principles. Candidate should have an interest in gaining experience with authentic community engagement and possess an ability to communicate with diverse audiences. Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency. Some evening or weekend hours are required based on community outreach plans. This position requires intern to be in office for at least 8 hours per week in addition to tabling at community events as needed. Projects include but are not limited to:Assisting in the adaptation and implementation of the Faith, Activity, and Nutrition (FAN) program for faith-based settings and churches in identified communities within Hamilton County:- Familiarize yourself with the FAN program, training modules, and program materials.- Participate in community outreach efforts.- Assist with program planning and implementation. - Complete a landscape review of churches in selected communities. - Create promotional materials. - Help churches action plan and implement FAN within their organizations.- Establish and maintain working relationships with various stakeholders. Examples include local churches, WeTHRIVE! teams, and other community organizations. There is some flexibility within the dates and hours for the internship depending on candidate and school schedule.This position is for an unpaid internship.
