POSITION PURPOSE
We are seeking a hands-on, innovative, and solutions-oriented R&D / Special Projects Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the installation of new machines, upgrading and modifying existing equipment, machine design and fabrication, and implementing continuous improvement projects across our production facility. This is a dynamic, project-driven role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills who enjoys solving problems and bringing new ideas to life.
THIS JOB IS A FIT FOR YOU IF…

· You're naturally curious—someone who loves taking things apart, figuring out how they work, and putting them back together, better than before.

· You get excited about building, modifying, and improving machines to make them run better or do something new.
· You take pride in seeing a project through from concept to fully functional reality.
· You enjoy figuring things out, especially when there's no manual or precedent to follow.
· You're comfortable working in both R&D and production environments — and can switch between the two seamlessly.
· You're not afraid to weld, wire, machine, or fabricate to bring an idea to life.
· You like the idea of your work having a direct impact on operations, productivity, and innovation.
· You’re self-driven, organized, and take initiative without needing constant direction.
· You enjoy solving problems creatively and collaborating with others to get things done right.
SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM, overtime as needed
PAY: Up to $40/hour
THE CHALLENGE
This isn’t a sit-at-your-desk-all-day kind of job. You’ll be expected to jump between design work, hands-on fabrication, troubleshooting, and machine installation-sometimes all in the same day. You may be working on machines that are decades old one moment and designing something that’s never been built before the next. Projects often come with tight timelines, limited documentation, and the need to think creatively under pressure. You’ll need to troubleshoot complex mechanical and control issues, source or fabricate custom parts, and find solutions where none seem obvious.
Your ability to bridge the gap between engineering concepts and practical execution will be constantly tested, but that’s what makes the role rewarding. If you enjoy figuring things out, working autonomously, and building machines that make a real impact, this challenge will feel more like an opportunity.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE THESE ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Reviewing project plans and prioritizing tasks for machine installations, upgrades, or design modifications.
  • Determine product manufacturability, feasibility, and design or modify industrial equipment to meet product cost and quality requirements.
