Summary of Opportunity
Jostin is hiring a motivated and resourceful Recruiter to ensure the company is fully staffed, at all times, with the most qualified, best-fit, office and field professionals. The Recruiter is a rotational role within Jostin Construction’s Human Resources career pathway. This position develops competency in talent attraction, candidate evaluation, and hiring decision-making using a Find, Screen, Hire model. Employees entering HR will rotate through this role before advancing to broader HR responsibilities, such as an HR Generalist role.
The Recruiter will be responsible for executing a best-in-class talent acquisition strategy and handling the day-to-day responsibilities of talent attraction, recruitment, and selection. This involves posting open positions, managing Jostin’s applicant tracking system (ATS), reviewing resumes, conducting screens and interviews, and all other related tasks. The Recruiter owns the recruiting lifecycle through offer acceptance and is accountable for candidate quality, time-to-hire, and hiring outcomes.
The ideal person will have strong interviewing, communication, and problem-solving skills, will be a self-starter, and unafraid to learn as they go. This person will have the ability to develop long-term goals, short-term action plans, and execute the recruiting strategy daily. The Recruiter reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and does not have any direct reports. The Recruiter will lead the talent acquisition process and own the end-to-end candidate experience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Find: Talent Attraction & Sourcing
- Edit and manage job descriptions posted on internal and external recruiting websites.
- Refine and expand the source list as needed. Maintain a large variety of sourcing options and measure effectiveness regularly.
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies aligned with workforce plans
- Proactively source candidates through job boards, referrals, and community partners
- Represent Jostin at career fairs and community events
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for field and office roles
- Manage job postings and job descriptions
- Strengthen employer branding efforts
- Evaluate sourcing effectiveness
- Review applications and resumes
- Conduct structured pre-screen interviews
- Evaluate candidates for role fit, safety mindset, reliability, and values alignment
- Confirm need for acceptable pre-employment documentation
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers
- Manage the interview and candidate selection process, end-to-end, which includes tasks such as assembling interview informational packets for interviewers and candidates, sending calendar invites and preparing rooms, collecting assessment materials, summarizing results, and more.
- “Own” and strive to continuously improve the candidate experience, including having touch bases with candidates during the process.
- Measure candidate satisfaction
- Guide managers on compliant interviewing
- Provide status updates and report talent acquisition data and activity to HR Director on a weekly basis.
- Manage Jostin’s referral program.
- Spanish-speaking candidates may receive language support from HR team members as available; the Recruiter retains full evaluative authority
- Present desirable candidates to Hiring Manager for consideration
- Hiring Manager transitions candidates to HR & Office Support Associate “HR Associate” for pre-employment tasks upon making an offer and having it accepted by the candidate
- For Laborer 1 positions, Recruiter interviews, makes offer, and transitions to HR Associate.

- Maintain ownership of the HR phone line for recruiting calls
- Review HR inbox for recruiting-related messages
- Maintain ATS documentation and metrics
- Provide language support as able/needed

- Working knowledge of Human Resources practices and employment law, particularly as they relate to recruiting and hiring.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office and recruiting systems (ATS/HRIS), with comfort learning new technologies and tools.
- Ability to positively influence and motivate others, contributing to a strong employer reputation in the field and local labor market.
Experience & Other Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in a recruiting, sales, administrative, or HR support role (construction industry experience a plus).
- Interest in developing knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
- Working toward an HR certification (e.g., SHRM) or any existing training certifications are a plus.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office programs required.
- Experience administering ATS and/or HRIS systems required, UKG a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s License.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
