SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Jostin finishers possess the solid skills of the laborer classification. This position reports to the field superintendent. The person in this position needs to have the ability to be flexible as this position may perform various functions throughout a shift. This candidate also must be comfortable to work outside in the elements. In the summer, it gets hot and in the winter it’s cold. Jostin requires all employees to work collaboratively as a team with other Jostin employees and trade partners.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of commercial concrete pump place finish
  • Knowledge of power tools
  • Knowledge of hand float, bull float, screed and Fresno.
  • Knowledge of claw hammer and margin trowel
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices on a construction site

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Know when to perform edge work that is straight, clean at the proper elevations and slick. Accumulated 400-500 hours.
  • Must be able to screed for a long period of time
  • Operate a hand float around clean outs, drain, conduits, edges, etc.
  • Operate a hand rod in order to perform clean cut passes.
  • Operate a Bullfloat and Fresno while maintaining good quality, ability to hold it steady and remove imperfections and fill voids.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Meet the requirements of the laborer classification and 400-500 hours running edges
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screening
  • The ability to work irregular hours including weekends when necessary
  • Arrive to work on time (Allow time for parking, gathering PPE, etc)
  • The ability to work in harsh weather conditions for long periods of time
  • The ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath
  • The ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing
  • Willingness to commute within a 125-mile radius of Cincinnati
  • COVID vaccinations may be required at some job sites
