Summary:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day HR functions within their assigned location(s), including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, policy compliance, and support of company-wide initiatives for both the bakery and depot. This role ensures HR practices align with business goals, fosters a positive workplace culture, and provides guidance to employees and leadership on HR-related matters.

Essential Functions

Partner with site leadership to address employee relations issues and support a positive, respectful work environment.

Lead recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions; collaborate with hiring managers to attract and retain strong talent.

Manage onboarding and orientation programs for new hires.

Provide coaching and support on performance management, disciplinary action, and policy interpretation.

Administer HR policies and ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.

Lead or support investigations and documentation related to employee concerns or complaints.

Monitor attendance, turnover, and other HR metrics and make recommendations for improvement.

Coordinate employee engagement efforts and support wellness or recognition initiatives.

Oversee or support benefit administration, open enrollment, and leave management.

Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records and HRIS data.

Prepare reports for corporate HR and participate in audits or internal reviews.

Supervise HR support staff as applicable.

Work Environment

This position operates in an office setting, with routine interaction on the plant floor as needed.

Physical Demands

Regular use of computer, phone, and general office equipment

Occasional lifting of boxes or files up to 20 pounds

Must be able to walk the production floor safely and attend employee meetings across the facility

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salaried position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional after-hours work depending on operational needs.

Travel

Minimal travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

5+ years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a management or senior generalist role

Preferred Education and Experience

HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR)

Experience in a manufacturing or production environment

Familiarity with HR systems such as ADP or Paycor
