Job Summary:
Helps assess, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate Regional emergency preparedness efforts. Maintains confidentiality.
Job Functions:
Assists with emergency preparedness efforts, e.g. policies/procedures, training, report writing and attending local, state and regional meetings. Assists with program issues.
Provides input to managers and other staff on Emergency Management issues. Serves as role model/resource person.
Chairs/Serves on committees as assigned.
Recognizes and reports potential safety issues.
Demonstrates teaching skills and classroom management skills.
Supports and contributes to organizational cost saving indicatives.
Maintains effective communications.
Conducts routine safety inspections of construction areas.
Conducts routine fire prevention and safety inspections of all assigned areas. Checks assigned fire extinguishers monthly.
Responds to all emergency situations in order to resolve any incident which could result in harm.
Call for appropriate outside agency (police, fire, EMT, etc.).
Monitors parking practices of associates and visitors to ensure compliance with hospital policies.
Personal escorts when requested.
Receives/releases bodies to and from the morgue, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
Monitors and promotes compliance with all hospital policies (i.e. solicitation, smoking and visiting hours).
Participates in Code Gray (hospital policy).
Conducts investigations of all items reported lost or stolen.
Transports all bank deposits and change orders.
Any other duties as a Safety/Security Officer.
Education:
Associates Degree preferred/
Emergency Management/Law Enforcement
