Patient Testing Responsibilities
The neurodiagnostic technician conducts various patient tests, including but not limited to:
- Electromyography (EMG)
- Electroencephalography (EEG)
- Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS)
Summary of Responsibilities
- Ensures timely completion of daily patient testing
- Accurately documents pre-patient testing
- Maintains clinical testing equipment
- Performs all assigned duties in strict compliance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Works to ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy
Education Requirements
- Associate's degree from an accredited school
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, including muscles, nerves, vestibular system, and visual system
- Average mathematical skills
- Basic understanding of electronics and instrumentation
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two years of recent experience in electronic diagnostics
- Recent experience in EMG
- Certified EMG desired and preferred
- EEG experience preferred, but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Broad range of administrative and technical skills
- Detailed knowledge of neurodiagnostic equipment
- Ability to execute multi-step diagnostic procedures
- Produces final output within established departmental standards
