Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
Within this planning grant through HRSA, the Network Director will focus their effort on building a coalition/network of rural stakeholders with the end goal of improving rural health in Putnam and Van Wert counties in the following areas: helping to achieve efficiencies, expanding access and improving the quality of essential healthcare services and then working to strengthen the rural health care system. Additionally, the Network Director will provide oversight on administrative and fiscal duties and business operations.
Essential job functions include: assisting in the development of a coalition/network of stakeholders within Putnam and Van Wert counties, collecting and aggregating data to help inform future strategies with stakeholders and then assisting with the development of a strategic plan.
Essential Job Functions
Coalition/Network Building (70%):
Identifying Potential Partners: Researching and identifying organizations, community groups, or individuals with aligned interests to build a strong coalition base.
Relationship Building: Establishing and nurturing connections with key decision-makers within partner organizations to foster trust and understanding.
Communication Strategy Development: Crafting clear messaging and communication plans to effectively convey the coalition’s goals, objectives, and actions to both internal and external audiences.
Facilitating Collaboration: Organizing meetings, workshops, and working groups to facilitate discussion, consensus building, and decision-making among coalition members.
Governance and Oversight: Assist in the creation of by-laws for the Coalition and securing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between stakeholders while developing and leading the coalition.
Data and Project Management (20%)
Surveys and Needs Assessment: Conduct on-going market/rural health needs assessments and surveys that provide primary and secondary data to better analyze trends, gaps and opportunities to improve rural health care.
Data Collection/Analysis: Working and contracting with stakeholders to collect and analyze primary and secondary data to help inform planning purposes.
Program Implementation: Provide support in relation to on-going grant deliverables and the implementation of coalition activities in partnership with stakeholders. Analyze complex issues, develop effective action plans and adapting strategies as needed.
Rural Health Network Development Planning: Conducting surveys or holding focus groups to gather data on the health needs of the rural community.
Assisting in the Development of a Strategic Plan (10%):
Action Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans, outlining specific activities, timelines and responsibilities to achieve coalition goals as identified by the coalition.
Monitoring and evaluation: Tracking coalition progress, assessing effectiveness, and adjusting as needed to optimize outcomes.

Bachelors, Health Care Administration/Communications/Marketing/Psychology/Social Work/English/related field (required)
Work Experience
1-3 years' experience in an outreach position (required)
Experience working for a large, complex organization, non-profit and/or community/public health organization (preferred)
