About the opportunity
Mercy Care Centre Young is a 26-bed subacute health service facility providing a range of outpatient, community health and aged care services for the people of Young and surrounding region. It specialises in geriatric evaluation and management; rehabilitation and palliative care.
For gorgeous country charm and pleasure-seeking delights on the southwest slopes of the Great Dividing Range NSW, the Young and Hilltops region is a wonderful destination famous for its cherry orchards and elegant cool-climate wines.
Young and the Hilltops region is around four hours’ drive from Sydney and two hours from Canberra. It’s also a great stop on a Sydney to Melbourne road trip. The nearest airports are in Canberra, Wagga Wagga and Bathurst, all around two hours away.
As the Nurse Unit Manager you will;
Manage our Inpatient 26 bed, subacute ward specialising in rehabilitation and palliative care
Provide effective leadership and strategic direction within the unit to ensure high quality clinical practices and patient care
Tactically manage the operational, financial, human and information resources within the unit liaising with the relevant Clinical Director
Provide effective Nursing leadership within the Clinical Program to ensure high quality clinical practices and client care

To thrive in this role, you will have:
Relevant Nursing qualifications. Current registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of NSW
Experience in providing management and leadership
Demonstrated ability to develop good multidisciplinary relationships and progress change management initiatives
A professional manner with excellent customer service and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to perform all activities within the Mercy mission, vision and core values
Demonstrated computer literacy
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
