What you'll bring

The Strategic Communication Manager will lead a small team to deliver high quality and effective communications Mercy Health across our health and ageing services.

The successful applicant will have significant strategic communications experience (external and internal), excellent stakeholder and people management skills, be highly organised and have a flexible, solutions-focused approach. You will also be motivated by being part of an organisation delivering care to a diverse range of people including those who are vulnerable.

Key responsibilities:

  • Team leadership and management: Provide direction and guidance to a small team; set clear goals and performance expectations; coordinate workload distribution to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Stakeholder management: Proactively develop and maintain internal and external relationships; establish and maintain a database of external stakeholders.

  • Communication strategy and planning: Contribute to setting the direction for how, when and why Mercy Health communicates; maintain high standards of accuracy; support 2 x communication advisers to drive external communication; lead the development of presentations and speeches for senior executives and board members; drive the use of data to track and improve communication.

  • Internal communication: Lead internal communications consistent with business area priorities; lead GCEO communications; lead a process to improve internal communication channels and improve staff engagement.
