About the opportunity
The Environmental Services Department at Mercy Hospital for Women plays a vital role in supporting a safe, hygienic, and patient-centred environment in one of Victoria’s most respected maternity and neonatal hospitals. You'll lead a committed team of over 70 Patient Services Assistants and Cleaners, and oversee key hospitality functions including food services, cleaning, linen, waste, and patient transport services. Join a collaborative and passionate leadership team working at the intersection of clinical care and operational excellence.
Provide high-quality, efficient environmental and hospitality services to support patient care
Oversee performance, compliance, and workforce development across the department
Lead continuous improvement and service delivery initiatives to enhance hospital operations

To thrive in this role, you will have:
Tertiary qualification, or equivalent, in related discipline e.g. Hospitality Management, Leadership or working towards or willingness to commence within agreed period
Proven experience managing environmental or hospitality services in a hospital or similar environment
Strong understanding of infection prevention, NSQHS standards, and regulatory compliance
Demonstrated leadership skills in workforce management, performance development, and team engagement
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a commitment to service excellence
Confidence in managing budgets, rosters, and third-party service contracts
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
