About the opportunity

  • Casual Social Work positions at Grade 2 level are available at both Mercy Hospital for Women and Werribee Mercy Hospital.

  • These positions encompass a clinical caseload within the maternity or gynaecological streams at Mercy Hospital for Women and the acute, subacute, maternity and paediatric streams at Werribee Mercy Hospital. ED/SSU Social Work is not included in this opportunity

  • This position will form part of an integrated multidisciplinary team and will be required to provide highly responsive and flexible services to consumers whilst upholding a high level of professionalism and practising the core values of Mercy Health

  • This role will encourage best practise philosophy amongst staff and will be expected to demonstrate an advanced skill set

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work with a minimum of 2 years' post qualifying experience and eligibility for membership to the AASW

  • Sound knolwedge of evidence-based practises and commitment to continuing professional development and research

  • Prior hospital experience is highly desirable

  • Adaptive, creative with a passion for patient focussed care

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
