Job Description
Perform basic and advanced polysomnography tasks. Score and processes reports to integrating physician. Assists in troubleshooting and maintaining sleep disorder centers equipment. Provided input with product evolution. Provides patient care. May assist with staff training as directed by clinical coordinator. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to assigned patient.
Job Duties
1. Participates in case conferences with night technicians and assists them in break-down, clean up and patient discharge to ensure a neat lab.
2. Prepares the patient, explains the procedure and ensures patient cooperation during the examination.
3. Assists with conducting various polysomnographic testing procedures.
4. Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper testing.
5. Performs clerical duties such as answering the telephone and directing inquires, setting up/maintaining files, scheduling/patient care matters, inventory control/ordering supplies.
6. Prepares preliminary reports addressed to the patient’s physician.
7. Abstracts relevant information from the patient’s clinical record and obtains additional information if necessary.
8. Assists Sleep Lab Manager with projects and related duties as assigned.
Education
Must be registered by the board of Polysomnography
BRPT is required
