About the opportunity

As the Lifestyle Assistant, you'll be part of an experienced, engaged and dedicated team and play a pivotal part in the planning and implementing of wellbeing activities for the residents of Mercy Place Parkville.

  • Assist with the delivery of recreational and social programs that enhance residents’ wellbeing.

  • Support the Lifestyle Coordinator with program planning and orientation of new team members.

  • Work individually with residents in line with their lifestyle plans and document progress accurately.

  • Ensure programs meet residents’ needs and accreditation standards.

  • Engage residents in meaningful activities and encourage community involvement.

  • Demonstrate understanding of cognitive, social and spiritual needs of residents and their families.

What you’ll bring

You’re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to be flexible, to adapt well to change and be able to adeptly problem solve.

  • Preferable memory support unit experience and understanding of the lifestyle needs of residents who are cognitively impaired.

  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective resident emotional and spiritual care and management.

  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current NDIS Check or recent police check

  • Cert IV in Leisure & Lifestyle
