About the opportunity

Join our dedicated and passionate maternity team at Werribee Mercy Hospital. Seeking a suitably experienced Midwifery Unit Manager to cover a period of maternity leave in our Postnatal Services and Midwifery in The Home team.

  • Continue the effective leadership and strategic direction within postnatal services ensuring high quality, consumer focused care

  • Manage the operational, financial, human and information resources, reporting through to the Director of Women's & Children's Services

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated previous leadership experience in a Midwifery Unit Manager role (Postnatal services highly desirable)

  • A commitment to providing safe, effective and personal, high quality postnatal care to mothers and newborns

  • The ability to nurture professional, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

  • Sound time management, critical and strategic thinking capability

  • Previous experience managing the operational, financial, human and information resources in a maternity setting

  • Postgraduate qualifications in midwifery, leadership or related field (or working towards)

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • Current midwifery registration with AHPRA and associated qualifications

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
