About the opportunity
Exciting opportunity to work as an Allied Health Assistant at Mercy Care Centre (MCC), Young, NSW. MCC is a publicly funded rural hospital and community service. As part of a large multidisciplinary team you will look after patients in subacute inpatients (rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation and palliative care), adult community and outpatients (rotational role, approx. 9 months per rotation). Professional development and supervision supported. Subsidised accommodation available and relocation subsidy may apply.
As part of a vibrant multidisciplinary team Allied Health Assistants support the work of clinicians to provide effective, efficient and patient centred care to patients.
Implement therapy programs, provide administrative support, assist with therapy groups, practice with patients using equipment and assist cleaning equipment, assist with clinical care (including personal care and transport), be an integral part of inpatients and community patients' recovery and the smooth running of our services.
By working within the delegated boundaries of the clinical work you will provide safe and essential care to patients and assist with administrative tasks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

To thrive in this role, you will have:
Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, unrestricted driver's license and willingness to work towards a light-rigid license to enable driving our MCC bus.
A compassionate, helpful, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management and willingness to learn and take direction.
Either certificate 3 or 4 AHA qualified, or willing to work towards certificate 4 AHA in first year of employment.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
Approved working rights for Australia. We are unable to offer sponsorship of this role.
A current Police Record Check and NSW Working with Children Check.
Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
