About the opportunity

The Clare Moore Building is part of the Mercy Mental Health Program providing an acute adult inpatient service to people with mental illness who reside in the cities of Hobsons Bay and Wyndham. The Social Worker (Grade 2) works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) that provides, quality patient –centered nursing care and advocate for and facilitate the involvement of individuals, their families and significant others in planning and evaluating care. The aim is to work towards recovery and improved health outcomes through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical interventions ensuring a holistic approach to the client, their family and carers. In addition to social work specific duties, the position involves working within a multidisciplinary team and support and participate in the operation of the program.

About you

To be successful in this role, you require:

  • An approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

  • Experience working in public mental health service

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
