About the opportunity:
The Maintenance Officer will report to the Service Manager and be responsible for ongoing repairs and preventative maintenance of buildings, plants, equipment, and furniture. You will also assist with identifying and addressing health and safety issues to provide a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The main purpose of this role is to ensure the safety and upkeep of the Aged Care Facility by undertaking a variety of maintenance tasks in a timely and highly competent manner.
Responsible for ongoing repairs and preventative maintenance of building, plant, equipment and furniture.
Liaising with contractors
Identifying and reporting areas for improvement
Assist with identifying and taking action on health and safety issues to provide residents, staff, and visitors with a safe environment.

Previous maintenance experience - Trade background/qualifications preferred but not essential.
Previous experience in Aged Care or hotel environment would be advantageous
Ability to work independently and as part of the local team
Proficient computer skills and prior experience working with a computer-based maintenance system will be advantageous
Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety standards and regulatory maintenance frameworks relating to residential aged care.
Experience in managing contractors, WHS/OH&S compliance, Site inductions, understanding of HVAC systems, Essential services, Building 9C regulations, etc.
You will also be required to provide evidence of or in the process of obtaining:
A current Police Record Check
Trade-based qualifications or more than 3 years of experience in a commercial maintenance position are preferred.
