Job Summary:

The Buyer will assist and participate in the purchase of raw materials, tools, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies, and ensure quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Issue all purchase orders for commodities within responsibility, and monitor open purchase orders within ERP system
• Verify that all orders have been properly acknowledged by the vendor, and update records consistently in ERP system
• Follow up with the vendor on all past due orders
• Source the best products for the best price from a reliable vendor
• Assure that the acquisition of all good or services will meet material requirements as well as specifications
• Track and maintain proper levels of stocked inventory
• Provide Account Management with reliable material quotes
• Initiate and implement process improvement initiatives for department
• Handle any material needs for other Monti Inc. sites that have been assigned to you
• Assist in the returning of Rejected material to the vendor
• Evaluate procurement data and monitor key supply chain metrics
• Complete other duties as assigned by manager.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in material management, business management or work equivalent
• Must have prior experience buying in a manufacturing environment, preferably with metals
• Engineering and/or manufacturing background highly preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dirt, dust, and mobile equipment
• Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
• Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day
• Ability to work up to 8–10-hour shifts and overtime as required by the work
• Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time
• Simultaneously mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area
