Job Purpose

Industrial Electrician must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient. Responsible for electrical repairs and improvements on industrial 3 phase 480v, 120v, and 24v equipment; including conveyors, packaging equipment, lighting panels, breakers, control panels, motor starters, distribution panels, disconnects, HMI’s and PLC’s. This position requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations. The work of industrial electricians can often be physically demanding. They must also be able to operate tools in close proximity to electrical components. Industrial electricians must also be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, ladder logic or instructions. They must also be motivated to work on their own and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are a necessary part of this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components of industrial equipment.
  • Observing safety procedures and meeting electrical codes.
  • Performing quality testing and inspections.
  • Must have up to 3 years experience as an electrician working in an industrial environment.
  • Must have expertise with PLC Controls.
  • Excellent understanding of safety rules in an industrial setting.
  • Awareness of operational machinery problems in short proximity.
  • Strong ability to read measure devices and blueprints.
  • Must be able to use basic tools and machinery.
  • Awareness of operational machinery problems in short proximity.
  • Responsible for electrical repairs and improvements on industrial 3 phase 480v, 120v, and 24v equipment; including conveyors, packaging equipment, lighting panels, breakers, control panels, motor starters, distribution panels, disconnects, HMI’s and PLC’s.
  • Responsible for calibrating and checking instruments.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Perform routine maintenance on production equipment.
  • Wire machines and electrical panels in line with prints.
  • Browse blueprints and lots of schematics, and use an array of tools and diagnostic devices to service and install electrical components.
  • Responsible for making sure electrical systems are safe, and are running with utmost efficiency.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Journeyman experience or the completion of an apprenticeship program.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electrical control systems 480v, 120v, 24v, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Working knowledge and ability to diagnose and operate PLC’s.
  • Ability to work as a team member or along to complete projects, utilize excellent communication, ability to make decisions based on technical documents, possesses strong electrical, mechanical, analytical, and solution driven skills, ability to schedule and balance priorities; and possess a string adherence to deadlines.
  • Experience in automation, conveyers, and robotics.
  • Experience using basic tools and machinery.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing and office environment. Exposure to noise, fumes, and dust, while in manufacturing facilities.
