Job Summary: The Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher position instructs students in mathematics courses, plans and delivers standards-aligned lessons, assesses learning, supports student success in the classroom environment with the curriculum designed and approved by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and the school administration. This Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher position is needed during the first semester of the 2026-2027 school year from August 10, 2026 to October 9, 2026.. All religious denominations are invited to apply. Responsibilities/Duties: - Supports, promotes, and models the mission, vision, and core Ursuline values of Saint Ursula Academy.
- Works cooperatively with the Principal, other personnel and departments to ensure a welcoming environment for students, parents, and visitors to the school.
- Exhibits professionalism in preparing instruction, teaching and communicating with students, parents and other members of the faculty and staff.
- Instructs, supervises, and ensures safety of all students.
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
- Reports attendance each bell to the school office in a timely manner.
- Evaluates student progress on a regular basis and posts the student progress in a visible location on a regular basis.
- Adheres to deadlines for reporting grades, sending progress reports and completing other forms and reports required by school policy and/or the administration of Saint. Ursula Academy.
- Cooperates with the Department Chairperson in the development of curriculum and selection of books and other instructional materials and equipment.
- Cooperates with the Educational Services Coordinator, including making adjustments in test and exam schedules to accommodate the needs of the learning-disabled students.
- Cooperates with the Guidance Department on student-related issues.
- Attends all in-service, faculty, departmental, grade-level and committee meetings unless excused by the Principal.
- Supervises the student body at liturgies, prayer services, assemblies, clubs, lunchroom, and other non-classroom activities as assigned by the principal or delegate.
- Instructs and supervises students on regulations regarding emergency procedures.
- Uses and conserves school equipment, materials, and supplies properly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: - Bachelor's degree.
- State of Ohio Teaching Certificate preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Strong mathematics content knowledge.
- Proficient in Google and Microsoft Office Software products, Powerschool and Schoology.
- Maintains records and prepares reports using computer software applications programs.
- Active listener with excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Team player with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
- Highly organized and work well under pressure.
- Must be able to consistently present a positive attitude and contribute to a harmonious team environment.
