Job Summary:
In collaboration with the President and the Principal, the Campus Minister is responsible for the growth and cultivation of Ursuline awareness and spirit in the Saint Ursula Academy community, with a special focus on community faith formation. Must be knowledgeable and committed to the mission and philosophy of the school, and uphold and exemplify the characteristics of an Ursuline education through programming initiatives and faith-filled events. This is a full-time, 12-month position, reporting directly to the Vice Principal of Student Life.
Responsibilities/Duties: - Supports, promotes, and models the mission, vision, and core Ursuline values of Saint Ursula Academy.
- Works cooperatively with the Vice Principal of Student Life, other personnel and departments to ensure a faith-filled and inclusive environment for students, parents, and visitors to the school.
- Prepares and monitors Campus Ministry budget.
- Maintains active membership in Archdiocesan Campus Minister meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Student Faith Formation - Provide opportunities for students to explore and deepen their relationship with God through prayer, reflection, and service.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and coaches to support and enrich classroom instruction and student experience through experiential faith activities.
- Oversees the Campus Ministry Council.
Spiritual Programming and Retreats - Oversee the design, coordination, and facilitation of spiritual retreats and programming across multiple grade levels as well as the adult community. Strive to create meaningful experiences that foster personal growth and community.
- Schedules, organizes, and facilitates Masses and spiritual services.
- Trains and supervises all student Eucharistic Ministers, lectors, and Mass participants.
- Coordinates with the (Mass) Music Director to prepare the liturgical music for Masses and prayer services.
- Serves as Chapel Sacristan by cleaning all liturgical vessels and linens; orders all mass supplies; displays decorations in the chapel and throughout campus for the liturgical seasons.
Education/Experience: - Bachelor’s degree required; degree in theology, religious studies, pastoral ministry, or a related field preferred.
- Five years of experience working in pastoral ministry preferred.
- Possess or is willing to acquire a Tier 1 Catholic Campus Minister Certification (CCMC) within 12 months.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Practicing Catholic with a passion for and knowledge of Ursuline education as it is described in the writings of St. Angela Merici lived at Saint Ursula Academy with its traditions and beliefs.
- Experience in youth ministry, campus ministry, or retreat leadership.
- Ability to engage adolescent young women with sensitivity, creativity, and authenticity.
- Demonstrates a joyful, compassionate, and faith-filled presence.
- Respects the dignity and diverse faith journeys of all students.
- Demonstrates effective time management and organizational skills.
- Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills with experience in multiple communication modes, including social media, with the ability to articulate the importance of being called to live a faith-filled and inclusive life.
- Must represent Saint Ursula Academy with the highest degree of professionalism, contribute to a harmonious team environment, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Proficient in Google, Microsoft Office, and other applicable software products.
