We are actively seeking an empowering, people-focused Sales Support Supervisor to assist in the leadership of the Sales Support team.
This is a working position that will lead a group of professionals that ensure our customers are satisfied by responding to information requests and provides product samples and informational databases. With a commitment to responding to customer needs, the Sales Support Specialist is Skidmore’s foremost link between the customer and Skidmore’s information resources and principal administrative support function for the sales effort. The Sales Support Supervisor will report to the Sales Support Manager to ensure a high level of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Motivate, train, oversight, and supervision of Sales Support Specialists team activity and monitor their performance.
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members to drive high level of service throughout the team.
- Hold Sales Support Specialists accountable by supervising and executing standard processes and problem-solving techniques for maximum customer satisfaction.
- Assist in interviewing and hiring of Sales Support Specialists with a focus on Skidmore Core Values.
- Provides clear direction to direct reports and creates opportunities for them to succeed.
- Delegates work, as appropriate, to direct reports and develop their skillsets to help them grow.
- Prepares all correspondence necessary including Pricing, Customer Quotes, Introduction Letters, Customer requests for Stocking of Inventory and supplier change notifications as requested by Regional Sales Managers.
- Joint responsibility on customer bids in gathering supplier pricing information, freight rates and entering data on customer bid sites.
- Responds to customer requests for product information, availability, alternate sources, and general product information as directed by Regional Sales Manager.
- Responds to sample requests and provides the necessary follow-up for expeditious service.
- Assists Regional Sales Managers in sourcing information in Sage X3, Salesforce and outside sourcing through suppliers including pricing, availability, and documentation to support ongoing business development.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining sales managers customer pricing files including supporting pricing, rebates, contracted pricing.
- Assists Regional Sales Managers in the review of Customer activity such as ordering and usage patterns and troubleshooting margin errors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience
- Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of an Bachelors degree in a technical field preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 4-5 years of professional experience required, preferably in a related field.

- Advanced attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Strong communication skills, and able to lead and motivate leadership and team members daily in a face past environment, while driving consistent results.

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Advanced knowledge of Salesforce
- Advanced knowledge of ERP and CRM systems; experience in Sage X3 preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, vendors, and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at one time and work independently.
- Continuous improvement, project management, and change management experience.
- Must have a high level of Excel skills and be able to create spreadsheets, use formulas and visual appeal. This includes a high level of mathematical skills.
- Leading both with and without authority across a diverse group of people.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Comfortable in an environment of shifting priorities.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working Hours/Environment
- Office hours are 40 per week – Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00; may require additional hours periodically, including evening and weekends depending on business needs.
- Work typically performed in an indoor office setting.
Tools and Equipment Used
- Personal computer, copier, fax/scanner, phone, and other typical office equipment
Travel
- Minimal – less than 5% of the time
Physical & Mental Demands
- Frequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for long period of time.
- Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
- Light lifting and carrying of supplies, files, etc.
- Ability to speak to and hear employees/clients via phone or in person.
- Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around the office environment.
