The IT Business Enablement Build team is currently looking for an IT Development Manager who will be responsible for leading the development of solutions for our Customers, Suppliers and Employees.

This individual will work closely with business and IT resources to ensure features deployed meet the needs of the business and are of high quality and availability. They are also accountable for day-to-day performance of the development team, operation, architecture and design discussions, and backlog management. This candidate will also ensure the team has appropriate & high technical competence through career development and performance assessments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Career development, coaching and evaluation
  • Continuously growing the technical competencies of the team members
  • Effectively communicate to both IT resources and business resources, including leadership
  • Run the day-to-day needs of the team
  • Perform manager functions such as performance reviews, team meetings and daily needs of the resources and team
  • Participate in prioritization of key initiatives
  • Lead the Bright Ideas process for gathering the voice of the customer and working with leadership to evaluate business benefit
  • Manage the development team backlog and roadmaps
  • Partner with business leadership across 4 companies to discuss the needs of the business and help translate the needs to the development scrum team and create epics/stories and identify the business value
  • Lead the maturity of the DevOps and agile processes
  • Help lead cross enterprise projects and change management

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience including people management
  • Ability to communicate and present technology concepts and solutions to non- technical business resources
  • Ability to proactively identify risks throughout the project and providing mitigation strategy
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential
  • Project Management experience on small to moderate complex level projects is required
  • Proven track record of business acumen with product development experience and the ability to collaborate with tech and business leadership
  • Tools – Demonstrated proficiency in the below will be highly regarded:
    • API capabilities, SaaS systems, Cloud Technologies, Data Strategy, EDI/B2B connectivity, DevOps, Security
    • ERP, CRM, TMS is a plus

Education/Experience

  • BA/BS computer science, engineering or information services and equivalent technical experience/training

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Possess a strong understanding of domain knowledge in Sales, Logistics, Distribution and/or Operations
  • Responsible for delivering technical solutions that drives business outcomes
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of agile methodologies as well as change management and DevOps
  • Manage the backlog of requests and challenge requests that are not aligned to organizational goals
  • Creates and/or supports release plans for large to moderate projects
  • Develops requirements and testing specifications for moderate to complex system enhancements.
  • Drives analysis needs to resolve day-to-day production issues in partnership with support organization
  • Uses business and technical architectural principles to define project objectives, processes, roles and responsibilities, and methodology

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working Hours/Environment

  • Expectations include a traditional 40+ hour full-time work week, requiring physical office presence. Alignment with standard company business hours.
  • Although infrequent, off-hours support will be required periodically where circumstances dictate outside of normal business hours

Tools and Equipment Used

  • Personal computer, copier, phone, and other typical office equipment

Travel

  • Not to exceed 15%; Domestic-travel only within the U.S.

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time
  • Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
  • Ability to speak to and hear employees/clients via phone or in person (Candidate must speak English as a primary language)
