Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Addiction Counselor to join our team in Portsmouth, OH. The ideal candidate will provide professional counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, helping them achieve and maintain sobriety through evidence-based treatment plans and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ substance use and related behavioral health issues.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and community resources to support client recovery.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Facilitate relapse prevention and life skills training.
• Stay current with best practices and developments in addiction counseling.

Qualifications

• Valid and current Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) certification or equivalent in the state of Ohio.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in addiction counseling or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of substance use disorders, treatment modalities, and recovery processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient in maintaining detailed and accurate documentation.
• Commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.

Work Environment

This position is based at our facility located at 1907 11th Street, Portsmouth, OH. The role involves direct client interaction in a clinical setting and occasional community outreach activities.
