Description

Position Summary:

Provide employment related assistance to clients using a strengths-based approach. Utilize established protocols, curriculum and resources to help clients find and maintain employment that ensures a path to self -sufficiency.

Position Description:

  • Complete intake screening, assessment, and documentation related to employment history, skills and abilities, vocational goals, and identifying strengths and barriers
  • Facilitate interviewing skills development, assist clients with resume writing, job seeking plans and obtaining necessary identification
  • Provide individual and group services based on established curriculum
  • Provide vocational planning and training opportunities based on knowledge of local employment resources and client ability, needs and circumstances.
  • May transport clients as necessary
  • Efficiently operates personal computer to enter and/or retrieve data
  • Accurately prepare required reports for referral sources, funder(s) and Agency
  • Work to prevent and resolve client/employer problems as needed
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure client needs are met
  • Conducts employment verifications, documents services delivered and conducts follow-up
  • Coordinate and deliver presentations to internal and external audiences

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of local employment market opportunities, barriers and trends
  • Understanding of potential client circumstances that may impact employment opportunities
  • Knowledge of educational and vocational appraisal techniques
  • Accurate, timely recordkeeping and attention to detail
  • Ability to resolve/deescalate/anticipate crises; use crisis intervention skills relating to clients
  • Foster spirit of teamwork and positive work environment
  • Comply with Code of Ethics, Conflict of Interest other and regulatory policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or;
  • Associate’s Degree and equivalent experience
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Must be able to pass Federal drug screen & background check

Essential Functions/Physical Demands:

  • Positional: Frequent standing, sitting and walking. Occasional driving in accordance with the job duties assigned.
  • Gross Mobility: Rare climbing, crawling, crouching and kneeling. Infrequent balancing and stooping. Frequent to constant reaching, handling and fingering.
  • Sensory: Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far and midrange visual acuity as well as depth perception. Rare use of color vision. Constant talking and listening.
