Summary Description:

The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and execute global product costing processes. This includes the development of the standard costing methodology to include material, labor, overhead, currency impacts and transfer pricing considerations.

What will your day look like?

  • Continuously monitor and asses the accuracy of the Company’s standard cost methodology, adjust when necessary to accurately reflect current costs.

  • Own and update the direct labor and overhead costing models for each region.

  • Prepare and execute standard cost roll for all regions of the Company (currently North America, Europe, Australia).

  • Partner with Engineering to establish initial cost for new products.

  • Investigate and resolve costing errors across all regions.

  • Responsible for all global cost accounting related month-end entries and ensure processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Prepare and present to management balance sheet reconciliations after each month-end close.

  • Support the validation of cost of goods sold, including intercompany transactions.

  • Assist with the establishment of intercompany inventory transaction pricing, including any statutory transfer pricing requirements and related eliminations.

  • Review or prepare supplemental reports in conjunction with monthly close.

  • Be the liaison between Accounting and Operations Finance to enable the delivery of business objectives & ensure accurate reporting.

  • Assist when necessary to identity root causes of periodic variances.

  • Provide updated standard cost information for use in planning and forecasting activities.

  • Review bill of materials, work order costing, production routers to ensure costs are reported correctly within the manufacturing environment.

  • Participate in ad-hoc requests and project analysis as needed to drive efficiencies for the business or function.

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting

  • 10+ years cost accounting experience

  • Global cost accounting responsibilities preferred

  • Manufacturing environment experience

Specific skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Large ERP experience, Oracle preferred

  • Good judgment and ability to work independently

  • Detail oriented

  • Excellent analytical thinking

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Ability to collaborate with multi-departmental teams

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, bend, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, and lift up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
