He/She will partner to set the global EDM strategy responsible for defining, overseeing and leading the strategy, architecture, and implementation of data management best practices across the organization ensuring the effective use, security, and governance of data across all business units. This role ensures that data is managed as a strategic asset, driving business insights, compliance, and competitive advantage. This role will also involve working closely with senior leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to define and execute a data strategy that aligns with the organization's goals.

What will your day look like?

  • Data Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise data management strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives.

  • Drive the adoption of data management best practices, including data governance, data quality, data architecture, and data lifecycle management.

  • Data Governance and Compliance:

  • Establish and oversee data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and privacy.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc., and manage data-related risks.

  • Data Architecture and Integration:

  • Collaborate with other IT and business teams to design and implement scalable data architecture that supports data integration, data warehousing, and analytics.

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data models, data flows, data management tools and data repositories to support business needs.

  • Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, including data architects, data engineers, data governance specialists, and data quality analysts.

  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement across the organization.

  • Data Quality and Integrity:

  • Implement and manage data quality programs to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of enterprise data.

  • Establish and monitor data quality metrics and work with business units to resolve data quality issues.

  • Business Intelligence and Analytics Support:

  • Partner with business units to identify data needs and provide support for business intelligence, reporting, and advanced analytics initiatives.

  • Enable the use of data analytics to generate actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.

  • Technology and Vendor Management:

  • Evaluate and select data management technologies and tools that align with the organization's needs and strategy.

  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality data management solutions.

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for enterprise data management initiatives, working closely with executives, IT, and business leaders.

  • Communicate the value and impact of data management initiatives to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

  • Develop and manage the budget for the enterprise data management function, ensuring efficient use of resources.

  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project and operational needs.

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.

  • Fifteen years or more of related experience and training.

  • Equivalent combination of education / training and experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft ERP platforms a plus.

Skills:

  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of data management technologies, data governance frameworks, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data quality management. Proficiency with data management tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Hadoop, Tableau, Informatica). Ability to manage priorities with a scarcity of resources mindset and defend prioritization decisions across the company, including executive leadership.

  • Mature, seasoned leader with strong team building experience.

  • Energetic, hardworking, and willing to devote appropriate amount of time to accomplishing work objectives.

  • Strong technical skills, leadership skills and business acumen with demonstrated success delivering results.

  • Proven ability to drive productivity and hold teams accountable for results.

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, to effectively communicate with Senior Management, Board of Directors and staff.

  • Must have good listening and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to process, organize, prioritize, and implement required changes and improvements required from all aspects of the business.

  • Detail oriented, focused and proactive in nature.

  • Must be a change agent with forward thinking in technology.

  • Capable of developing strong working relationships within the organization.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, bend, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, and lift up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
