Summary Description

The Senior National Account Manager is responsible for driving growth across the traditional hardware channel with a primary focus on Ace Hardware, True Value, and Do it Best. This role delivers sales, placement, and margin objectives while managing corporate, in-store and In-Field (Broker) initiatives tailored to the needs of these key retailers. Serving as the lead point of contact with buyers and merchant teams, the Senior NAM partners cross-functionally to execute brand programs, promotions, and product launches. Acting as the voice of the hardware channel internally, this role identifies growth opportunities, strengthens customer relationships, and ensures best-in-class execution to expand Gorilla Glue’s presence across independent and cooperative retailers

What will your day look like?

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver annual sales, margin, and placement objectives across assigned accounts.
  • Partner with Finance and Trade Marketing to identify opportunities, manage the P&L, and ensure accretive activities.
  • Build channel strategies across direct-ship and drop-ship models, leveraging our brands, product innovation, and field sales presence to capture market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, merchants, brand teams, inventory planners, and store personnel.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless program execution, accurate forecasting, and timely resolution of account issues.
  • Develop and present impactful business reviews, product line reviews, and insights on market trends and share growth.
  • Oversee operational processes including new item setup, price file maintenance, and invoice resolution.
  • Partner with Marketing to design and execute merchandising strategies that highlight brand differentiators and purchase drivers.
  • Develop comprehensive account strategies balancing financial targets with long-term brand and customer objectives, including promotional plans, innovation pipelines, and S&OP excellence
  • Oversee trade show planning and participation to showcase brand strength across Ace, True Value/Do it Best and others as required.
  • Partner with the Sr. NAM Field Sales to drive field sales initiatives, support in ensuring broker performance and execution align with strategic objectives.
  • Keep current on customer/competitor situations and generate plans to ensure market share objectives are achieved.
  • Build multi-year strategies with detailed building blocks for growth to support company growth plans
  • Capitalize on opportunities and can secure leadership support for key business opportunities. Effectively lead and execute every step of the customer’s sales process.

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of leadership experience in account or customer management.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with proven ability to identify opportunities, take calculated risks, and drive new business.
  • Expertise in relationship management, negotiation, and customer-focused selling.
  • Solid financial and business acumen; able to translate data and insights into actionable strategies.
  • Skilled in planning, prioritization, and problem-solving to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and TPM tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, manage risk, and continuously improve processes.
  • Clear, persuasive communicator with strong presentation and influencing skills.
  • Visible, passionate leader committed to team development, collaboration, and driving performance.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, integrity. Must be able to work independently and demonstrate effective initiative. Must possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Microsoft Office literacy.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, bend, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
