The Field Sales Engineer III provides general sales support, phone coverage as well as repair and quotation follow up.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Generates revenue opportunities by developing key accounts, markets and cultivating long-term relationships with customer contacts.
- Generates new business leads, follows up on marketing campaigns and sets up qualified appointments with prospects.
- Develops and grows assigned territory and builds base of existing and new customer revenues in territory.
- Attends training in company sales procedures and trade shows, seminars and conferences, as required. May be required to present at shows and conferences.
- Provides quotations and follow up on quotes and leads for products and service in accordance with pricing and delivery policy
- Responds to a wide range of written and phone customer inquiries. Accepts and amends contracts.
- Communicates on a regular basis with all appropriate supervisor & management staff.
- Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts and activity reports.
- Executes business plan for assigned territory.
- Keeps all account and prospect information timely and up-to-date in system for prospect/client/sales tracking purposes.
- Meets assigned sales quota in region/territory.
- Provide for ongoing mentoring of personnel with the market with a positive/supportive culture. Develop and implement training programs to enhance or correct deficiencies as needed.
- Develop strategies and innovations and assist in marketing budgeting process based on knowledge of local market conditions. Provides critical liaison between customers and factory by communicating customer inputs to support Marketing and Engineering efforts.
- Maintains and expands customer base by counseling/training district sales representatives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
- Responds accordingly to a wide range of customer inquiries on product availability, product configurations, trouble shooting, delivery, repair/service, account status, literature requests.
- Provides feedback to the Sales Management Team.\
Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 60-70% of the time in territory. Must have the ability and willingness to travel extensively by automobile and airplane
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Four year degree or equivalent specialized degree
Experience: A minimum of five years of technical sales in dynamic instrumentation or acoustics related field and business related field. Demonstrated success in consistently growing revenue in an assigned territory or business unit. Must have moderate computer skills including manufacturing operations, CRMs, information systems, ability to understand financial reports and statements. Must have the ability to mentor colleagues. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated and self-directed, results driven.

Education: MBA or MS preferred
