Job Description

Performs all phases of large complex model development, validation, and performance management for various types of projects. Projects may include data aggregation, model design, model selection, testing, documentation, validation, implementation, and execution. Incumbent should have a strong statistical modeling background based on technical training or advanced education in a quantitative field. May interact directly with senior managers requiring advanced levels of presentation and relationship building skills. This position will also have occasional exposure to internal and external oversight. Incumbent is expected to progress to a subject matter expert in one or more areas. Prefers a basic understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that affect their assigned line of business. Position requires limited management direction.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, and three or more years of relevant experience
OR
- MA/MS in a quantitative field, and less than three years of related experience
Preferred Skills/Experience

- Statistical modeling background based on technical training or advanced education in a quantitative field.

- Basic knowledge of various regression techniques (linear, logistic), parametric and non-parametric algorithms, times series techniques (ARIMA, GARCH), and other statistical models, various model validation tests/methodologies, using SAS, R, or similar statistical package.

- Experience with data compilation, programming skills and qualitative analysis skills such as Python, VBA, and C++.

- Basic knowledge of the Mortgage Industry. Specifically, knowledge pertaining to mortgage servicing rights (MSR) valuation, market risk hedging, and current coupon/primary mortgage rate generation.

- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk factors (duration, convexity), industry risks, competition risks, and risk management approaches.

-Experience modeling or analyzing mortgage prepayments and delinquencies.

- Basic understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that affect the mortgage business.

- Strong project management skills.
- Demonstrated independence, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

NOTE: This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $87,465.00 - $102,900.00 - $113,190.00
