Job Description

The Operational Risk Strategic Oversight Manager is a new role within the Operational Risk Management (ORM) team focusing on the alignment of Framework elements across ORM, facilitating strategic plan and incentive plan reviews, leading strategic/special projects, as well as providing oversight of regulatory meetings and exams for ORM.

Key responsibilities include working with teams across Operational Risk and Technology Risk to evaluate processes to ensure effective and consistent application of risk management frameworks, policies and programs. The Strategic Oversight Manager is responsible for overseeing a number of projects and activities that include gathering, analyzing and synthesizing data then communicating results to Senior and Executive Management within a well written final report/presentation. Facilitate or participate in projects that further strengthen Operational Risk Management or respond to heightened expectations. Creating presentations and training materials appropriate for internal employee development, regulatory or industry meetings, and Executive Management as needed.

The Operational Risk Strategic Oversight Director will be an independent contributor; however, must be able to influence and lead projects and processes that include collaborating with Lines of Business and other Second Line of Defense partners as well as working directly with Senior Management.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically more than 12 years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Proven and demonstrated leadership skills, ability to think and work independently
  • Advanced knowledge of Operational Risk and the Operational Risk Management Framework, including the applicable assessment, control and assurance programs
  • Experience within Operational Risk or Compliance Risk Management
  • Deep business acumen and credibility to proactively identify opportunities, provide analysis and recommendations to support the enhancement of the Bank’s Operational Risk Management programs and processes
  • Proven process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks across various risk programs and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to collect and analyze data to create concise management presentations
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $140,930.00 - $165,800.00 - $182,380.00
