Job Description
Our Team of Corporate Credit Analysts provide credit underwriting support to U.S. Bank’s Corporate Banking Portfolio Management Team. U.S. Bank’s Corporate Banking covers industry verticals including Aerospace & Defense, Automotive & Transportation, Technology, Media & Telecom, Oil & Gas, Utilities, Consumer & Retail, Hospitality & Leisure, Food & Beverage, Healthcare & Education - Non-Profit, Healthcare for Profit, Insurance, Securities Industries & Investment, and Government Banking. Additionally, General Industrial companies are covered based on geographic location.
U.S. Bank’s Corporate Banking is strategically aligned to support credit and non-credit financial needs of business clients to large multi-national entities. For credit services, Corporate Banking lends directly to clients, or partners with Loan Capital Markets to agent or become a member in syndicate deals. Corporate Banking also assists with non-credit services and partner with other product groups such as supply chain finance, foreign exchange, derivatives, corporate payment systems, and merchant services.
What you’ll do
This is an Early Career Development Program opportunity that will provide exposure to Corporate Banking. Your intellectual curiosity, experience and contributions will facilitate learning about our corporate customers, the business sectors, and USB’s standards and best practices. Over the course of our 3-year programs part of our high performing team environment, it is expected that you may grow and develop to be aligned to, and/or co-manage a client portfolio alongside a Portfolio Manager.
As a credit analyst in the development program, you will:
Collaborate closely with Portfolio Managers to support customer relationships. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Support Portfolio Managers to manage an assigned portfolio of customer relationships
- Work on checking accuracy of financial statements spreads
- Work on quarterly trend analyses, quarterly monitoring reports and covenant tests in accordance with bank spreading standards and credit policies
- Analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive written analyses
- Analyze portfolio credit quality and assists with industry sector reports
- Assist Portfolio Managers in preparing and presenting credit requests for credit approval
- Assist with the completion of other transaction due diligence, receipt of customer's financial reporting requirements, credit metric trends
- Assist in setting up credit packages in underwriting program (nCino)
- Develop technical and business acumen through training, mentorship, and exposure to senior executives
- Build a supportive community of peers through a variety of cohort strengthening activities

Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree completed prior to start date
- Basic understanding of Financial/Accounting terms, concepts, and applications
- Ability to start development program on June 23, 2025
Preferred qualifications:
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed analytical skills
- Acute attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints
- Ability to work equally well in a team environment and independently, exhibiting initiative, ownership, and flexibility
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
Working model and hours:
This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.
Development program members work approximately 40-hours each week in this fulltime role.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
