U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Software Engineer (multiple positions) in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for leading the architectural design, development and management of data ingestion and pipelines for large scale data workflows in Hadoop and Azure environments. Essential responsibilities include: pre-process, clean, and analyze extensive datasets utilizing Azure data services like Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure machine learning Studio; manage and maintain Hadoop Clusters, utilizing advanced monitoring techniques and resource optimization strategies to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization; perform exploratory data analysis to reveal insights and patterns essential for informing business decisions; collaborate with cross functional teams to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for applying data science techniques; design and implement full scale data science solutions including data collection, engineering, model training and deployment; implement data security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant standards such as CCPA and PCI; implement data quality and management processes in Azure cloud environments, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and reliability of data assets across organization; implement DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment in a big data environment; troubleshoot and resolve issues in Azure environments, utilizing tools like Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics; perform capacity planning for Hadoop and Informatica applications in Azure cloud environments; and lead and mentor other team members fostering a culture of problem-solving and servant leadership. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or Technology Analyst.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 5 years of experience with all of the following: designing, developing and maintaining mainframe applications with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, Eztrieve, REXX and IBM Mainframe tools; front-end applications involving JavaScript and Angular; identifying and resolving production issues related to data; data research and analysis on big data Hadoop and cloud platforms; creating data models; executing data quality checks and implementing data governance and engineering through the utilization of ETL tools; providing design solutions; conducting code reviews; automating testing and executing deployments using Bitbucket and Bamboo DevOps tools; Python; JavaScript; C##; SSIS; Informatica; and Agile. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location.
