Job Description

The Payment Services Risk & Compliance Ireland team sits within the global Payment Services risk function supporting ‘Merchant Payment Services’ (‘MPS’) and overseeing the Payment business lines in Europe, comprised of the merchant acquiring business ‘MPS EU’ and corporate issuing business ‘Corporate Payment Solutions Europe’ (‘CPTS EU’).

The Operational Risk team support the ongoing oversight, management and implementation of designated Operational Risk Framework activities to mitigate risks arising from failed internal processes, systems, people or adverse events, including those for data security. Oversight is undertaken through key operational risk programs, including:

  • Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), including Outsourcing and Partner Risk Oversight
  • Product Risk Management (PRISM)
  • Operational Loss & Adverse Events
  • Data Protection & Privacy
  • Data Governance
  • Operational Resiliency
  • Risk Appetite & Key Risk Indicators

Our 2-year graduate program (undergraduate) will give you the opportunity to learn all aspects of the business and you will complete three rotations of 8 months:

  • Rotation 1: Third Party Risk Management & Product Risk Management
  • Rotation 2: Operational Loss, Adverse Events, and Privacy
  • Rotation 3: Operational Resiliency & Risk Governance

Responsibilities for the role:

Supporting the Payment Services Operational Risk team, including:

  • Supporting cross functional risk efforts / projects that impacted both FLOD and SLOD to ensure risks are identified, mitigated and managed within established tolerances, risk controls were effectively designed, and risk policies were understood and effectively applied;
  • Support management and risk owners on necessary improvements in risk management procedures/ controls and tracking remediation activity through to formal closure;
  • Analyzing risk data (typically losses, metrics or assessment results) and identifying root-causes to highlight areas of excessive risk and also to ensure past mitigation efforts are having the de-sired effect; and,
  • Supporting the monitoring and reporting of the organization's risk profile vis-à-vis the organizational Risk Appetite Statement and risk policies to respective governance bodies including local / regional management, local / regional Boards.

Basic qualifications:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Business, Economics, Law, Political Science) with a target completion year 2024 or 2025

  • Good grasp of the European financial and payment markets, regulatory and industry trends
  • Ability to start graduate program on 1 Sept 2025

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good grasp of financial and payment markets
  • Strong in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Contract Type: 2 year fixed term contract

Location: Dublin– Cherrywood

The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
