U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Senior Systems Engineer - VMware (Multiple openings) in Springfield, IL.

Essential Responsibilities:

Evaluate VMware solutions and lead the development of new virtualization solutions and integrated service offerings to meet large-scale multiplatform enterprise project requirements.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Deploying and maintaining templates, VMs, and migration on the datacenter
  • Configuring alerts, dashboards, and reports in VMware Aria Operation (vROPs)
  • Configuring protection groups and recovery plans for Test Migration
  • Installing and upgrading VMware ESXi code using Life Cycle Manager and command line
  • Installing vSAN clusters with OSA and ESA using Dell OMEVV and performing various maintenance tasks
  • Adding VMware ESXi hosts to existing vSAN clusters
  • Performing maintenance and upgrades of VCSA on Dev, Production environments
  • Creating clusters in VMware vCenter and enabling HA and DRS features
  • Maintaining and upgrading Cisco UCS, blades, and fabric interconnects
  • Upgrading Cisco hardware firmware including UCS, IO modules, blades, and fabric interconnect using auto-install
  • Completing firmware updates and configuration of DELL PowerEdge R750,760
  • Installing and configuring Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
  • Performing test recovery planning using SRM
  • Updating and configuring vSphere replications
  • Installing and configuring NSX-T in multiple environments
  • Deploying transport node profiles, segments and edge node in NSX-T
  • Installing and configuring AHV and CVM cluster using foundation
  • Installing, configuring, and updating Nutanix Prism central
  • Works with the following: VMware, vSphere technologies including vCenter, ESXi, vROPs, vRA, vSAN, NSX, Dell Hardware, SRM, PowerCLI; server hardware infrastructure, hardware configuration and support for Cisco UCS & Dell; VMware ESXi / vCenter installation and security updates, and upgrades and configuration of vCenter features; templates, VMs, and migration in the datacenter.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) cloud platform software engineering experience.

Required Skills/Experience:


Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Working with VMware, vSphere technologies including vCenter, ESXi, vROPs, vRA, vSAN, NSX, Dell Hardware, SRM, and PowerCLI; 2) Working with server hardware infrastructure and performing hardware configuration and support for Cisco UCS & Dell; 3) VMware ESXi / vCenter installation and security updates, and upgrades and configuration of vCenter features; and 4) Deploying and maintaining templates, VMs, and migration in the datacenter. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.

Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $102,482 - $144,400 (#LI-NDI #LI-DNI #LI-DNP #DE-DNP).
