This role leads a team of strategic planning professionals and partners closely with executive leadership, product, digital, branch, finance and operations teams to ensure priorities reflect business strategy, customer needs and return on investment. The Strategic Planning Lead will create and maintain an integrated roadmap that connects strategic initiatives, resourcing, and performance outcomes enabling clear, data-driven decisions that advance the bank’s long-term goals.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and collaborative leader with exceptional influence skills that thrives in a dynamic, matrixed environment. This individual demonstrates a proven ability to build consensus, foster alignment among diverse stakeholders, and translate complex information into actionable plans that drive results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Develop Team: Lead and develop the team responsible for strategic planning, prioritization, and intake processes, with end-to-end ownership of the CBB prioritization process.
- Drive Process Improvement: Continuously improve planning and intake processes by utilizing data and insights to inform decisions and enhance operational efficiency. Implement governance procedures to maintain alignment with enterprise strategy and capital allocation.
- Roadmap Ownership: Own the creation and maintenance (via a centralized process managed by this team) of an enterprise-wide, interconnected investment roadmap aligned to consumer bank strategic objectives, including all channels and consumer revenue lines (Branch, ATM, Consumer Lending, Consumer Deposits).
- Strategic Partnership: Partner with senior leadership across business lines to establish clear strategic priorities and transparent trade-offs.
- Vision and Framework: Set the vision and refine the framework and methodology for prioritization, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and goals, and lead the team in executing the ongoing process.
- Decision Authority: Accountable for segment-wide prioritization decisions through collaboration, influence, and outcomes—not just delivering on individual tasks performed by team members.
